“Citizen Activism” will teach you how Maryland governance works and how you can influence the legislative process.  The training will cover every aspect of the General Assembly session, and will give you the tools to follow the issues you care about and make a real impact on Maryland politics.

The hour-long training will start in January 12 and will be held every other week.

As a webinar, the training is available to you anywhere in the state.

No matter what your policy preferences, no matter your political affiliation – if you want to have a bigger say on your political process in Maryland, this training is right for you!

The training is open to anyone but if you are not a member of Common Cause Maryland, we encourage you to consider making a donation to support our work.

Tentative Agenda: (specific trainings subject to change)

  • Week 1: Session 101
  • Week 2: Bill drafting and bill tracking
  • Week 3: Committees demystified
  • Week 4: Influencing legislators
